“It’s hugely frustrating to finish outside the points but it’s not worth dwelling on what happened. The stewards gave their verdict and Lewis came and apologised to me for creeping over so that’s it. Nothing really that I could have done but still a shame.

We knew we would struggle here as a team with the straight-line deficit and our car would not suit this track as much as some of the other teams.

Hopefully, we will be a bit quicker at the next race in Singapore and the other seven races after that.”
