Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya – 66 laps – 4.657km – 14 corners
GP starting position: P9
GP race result: P13 (Soft -> Hard -> Medium)
Fastest lap: 1:18.679
Key moments:
- Oscar started from P9 after his third Q3 appearance in just seven races
- Endured a tricky afternoon as Saturday’s qualifying pace did not translate to the race
- Fought hard in the midfield and gave himself a shot at the points with some good overtakes on the hard tyre
- Last stint proved difficult as those with faster race pace moved up the order
- Key positive to build on from the weekend was the one-lap pace in conditions which suited the car
The race through OP’s visor
“Today was a trickier day than yesterday as we simply didn’t have the pace that we found in qualifying. That meant that things were always going to be difficult.Back to News
I fought as hard as I could in the midfield battle and managed to make a few good passes, but it wasn’t to be.
The encouraging part of the weekend was definitely the one-lap pace that we displayed in qualifying with both McLarens in the top 10 and so, hopefully we can build on that.”
