Sunday 5th March 2023 will go down as a special day for Oscar Piastri and everyone who has helped him on the road to Formula 1.

Despite an electrical issue ending his involvement in the grand prix after only 15 laps, the race and all the build-up represented the culmination of 12 years of hard work and determination.

It was a weekend full of new experiences both on and off the track: the first time lining up on a Formula One starting grid, the first time taking part in an F1 quali shootout and the first time making appearances in and around the paddock as an F1 driver.

Here, we look back at a busy weekend for Oscar out in Bahrain which included a visit to the FIA fans’ forum at the Bahrain International Circuit fan park, his first-ever appearance in the F1 drivers’ season photo and those all-important moments just before he jumped in car #81 to mark his F1 debut.
