Just days after clinching the FIA Formula 2 Championship in Abu Dhabi, Oscar Piastri was back on track, but this time in an F1 car as he joined the Alpine F1 Team for the end of season Young Driver Test.

As the final phase of his graduation from the Alpine Academy, the young Australian got his hands on the Alpine A521 and he didn’t waste any time, clocking fastest laps in the opening stages of the session and finishing in the top 3. But the test was more than just about fast times and the F2 Champion made the most of the opportunity, clocking up 131 laps through the day. A special moment as he looks ahead to his new role as reserve driver for the team next year where there will be more opportunities to get behind the wheel of the latest F1 machinery.
