After the long winter break, it was finally time to blow off the cobwebs as Oscar got to grips with his new Prema car which he will be racing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship this year.

Pre-season testing took place at Bahrain International Circuit for the first official three-day session and Oscar had a positive run as he worked to get the right chemistry with a new series after taking the FIA Formula 3 title last year.

Running in the top 10 in all sessions bar one long run focused test, Oscar worked hard to maximise the potential for the season, and analyse the variables including the new-for-2021 hard-spec tyres.

Oscar Piastri - “Overall it was a very positive preseason test, and we learned a lot. Qualifying performance looks reasonably strong, while in terms of race pace, I’m still adapting to Formula 2 and its variables. I did my first two full feature race distances and we kept improving, so I’m excited for the opening round of the season.”

Oscar doesn’t have long to wait before he’s back in the car, with only two weeks until he and his team return to Bahrain for the opening round of the 2021 season.
